Process + Challenge
The challenge was to create a brand that could communicate two seemingly different ideas: nature and biology. Rather than jumping directly into a final aesthetic, I started by defining the visual territory the brand needed to own and exploring multiple conceptual directions, from botanical forms and organic shapes to structured, symmetrical marks inspired by biological systems. Through each round, I evaluated the concepts not only as logos, but as potential brand systems, considering how they could scale across packaging, patterns, typography, digital applications, and future products. Feedback and experimentation helped narrow the direction, refine the strongest elements, and ultimately build a cohesive identity that feels natural, science-informed, premium, and distinctly Wildtype.

01 — Early Exploration
The first round explored multiple visual directions for Wildtype, from organic botanical forms to monograms and geometric symbols. The goal was to find a mark that felt connected to nature while still feeling modern, elevated, and distinctive within the wellness space. I gave the client 3 options based on what I explored.
Option 1
Option 2
Option 3

02 — Refined Direction
The geometric concept became the strongest foundation for the brand. I refined the mark and began exploring how it could expand into a larger visual system through typography, repeating patterns, packaging, and supporting brand applications.

03 — Final Identity + Packaging
The final identity pairs the refined geometric mark with an elegant serif wordmark and a restrained black, white, and warm gold palette. Additional circular details were introduced around the mark to create a visual language inspired by DNA, fingerprints, and the microscopic patterns found within the human body. The repetition and movement of these forms represent the unique biological information carried within our cells, connecting the identity back to the science behind the product while still maintaining the symmetry and natural influence of the original concept.
The supporting pattern expands on this idea through repeating circles, lines, and details inspired by genetic sequences, cellular structures, and biological data. Rather than illustrating DNA literally, the pattern creates an abstract representation of the complex information and systems happening within the body. This gave the brand a flexible graphic element that could feel both scientific and organic.
The identity was then translated into a complete supplement packaging system designed to feel modern, premium, and trustworthy. The black label creates strong contrast and gives the brand a more elevated presence, while gold details and natural product photography bring warmth and connect back to the balance of science and nature. A white-label variation was also developed, giving the brand flexibility while maintaining a consistent visual system across future products.

Project Summary
Wildtype lives at the intersection of nature and biology. The challenge was to build an identity for a supplement designed around the body’s response to plastic-related toxicity without falling into the visual clichés of traditional wellness brands. I explored organic forms, biological symmetry, geometric structures, and nature-inspired details to create a system that feels both grounded and scientific. From early concepts to the final mark, typography, pattern, and packaging, the identity evolved into a premium visual world that connects nature, biology, and modern wellness.
